Village sketches
In 2023 Jason Maracani and I spent three weeks in Cerdeira, Portugal, to explore with new shapes and designs for our large-scale sculptures. Drawn to the small details we found in the mountain village, we worked in miniature scale, making over 90 sculptures out of toothpicks. Each site specific piece was an exercise in form while also being an experiment in using small gestures to engage large and small spaces.
